Time Commanders: The Battle of Bibracte Part 1. It uses an edited version of the game engine behind the real-time strategy game Rome: Total War by the Creative Assembly to recreate famous battles of the ancient world. The battles are replayed by 4-player teams from diverse backgrounds. The teams are unfamiliar with computer games, to make sure their gaming skills do not influence their success. After a brief introduction of the battle, including an overview of military units, terrain and available forces, the players have to develop a strategy and then deploy their forces. Two of the players are selected as generals, who will direct the battle and have access to a strategic map. The other two players are designated lieutenants, the units are indirectly controlled by the lieutenants, who issue commands to program assistants, who in turn use the game interface to control the units.

With compartments for food and beverages on them gaming desks nowadays will easily sustain the most hardcore of gaming enthusiasts.

The quintessential gaming desk is basically one that will help the gamer be a more productive member of the world wide network of gamers, it allows a gamer to transcend his weaknesses and equips the gamer with the proper setup to not only frag and pawn his enemies, it would also allow him or her to give support to his allies. One way is making your own, by using your own specifications, and although this method might sound great, it is also a bit tiring as opposed to just opening up a browser and browsing on the internet for catalogues of computer gaming desks from online stores like Amazon, or eBay.

Indeed, online strategy games are typical military-themed, with the era and gaming environment ranging from the beginning of civilization to the future. These military strategy games usually ask players to build their own civilization or set up and train their own armies in the beginning. Either of the two tasks involves a lot of strategic thinking because the civilization or army that you build should be able to withstand the challenges that it will have to face along the way and as you level up.

Strategy games can either be real-time or turn-based. Real-time strategy games unfold even though the player is not logged on. The reason behind its long history of engaged players is that its developers make sure that there are always developments. There are now trade routes that players can explore, for example. In addition, players can also forge alliances with other players to complete certain tasks. The introduction of Home Cities is also an exciting turn, as it provides players with a home base which improves as you play.

On the other hand, in the turn-based camp is the Civilization series, whose following is also getting more solid. The storyline begins at the start of civilization. Players start off by choosing their civilization from 18 types. In the beginning, the players are given a few settlers to begin building with. Players are supposed to develop their territory into an empire, and ensure its peaceful existence by negotiating pacts with any of its neighbors, trading items with others, or by winning wars.

If you prefer a more historical twist, you can try Rome: Total War. The game allows players to sail ships for two important purposes: transport armies from one place to another and to prohibit enemies from entering ports. One highlight: the battles, which can involve as much as 10,000 men entangled in their exchange of brute force. In the beginning, you get to choose which race to control. You can be Roman or Greek, Barbarian or Egyptian, Arab or African.
